How We Started

The vision for Long Tail Farm was to create a place where real, meaningful connections between people and animals happen — whether you’re visiting the farm or inviting the farm to you. Our goal was to build a full-site experience that reflects the sense of wonder and care we bring through our tours, parties, mobile visits and educational programs. From cuddly goats and highland cows to kangaroos and lemurs, everything at Long Tail Farm is rooted in love, community and a little bit of animal magic.

Project Process

Research & Conceptualization

We started by diving into what families, schools, event-planners and animal-lovers want from an interactive animal venue: safe close encounters, memorable photo-ops, mobile flexibility, and genuine educational value. Our research looked at best practices for animal experiences, mobile event logistics and storytelling through animals. This helped us craft a site experience that aligns with Long Tail Farm’s multi-faceted offerings: on-farm visits, mobile “Animal Grams”, parties, and educational sessions.

UI/UX Design

We developed a layout that clearly showcases the farm’s variety of experiences — tours, mobile visits, animal-gram services, birthday parties and care services — with strong visuals of the animals themselves and easy navigation to book, learn, or contact. The design emphasizes joy, ease and authenticity: visitors can effortlessly explore “Meet the Animals”, “Our Services”, “Book a Visit” and more.

Development & Optimization

Performance and usability were key: the site needed to load quickly, adapt across desktop and mobile, and streamline booking for multiple service types. We built the site with responsive design, optimized assets (animal photography, interactive elements), and an intuitive booking workflow that supports tours by appointment, mobile visits, and event-based services. Extensive testing ensured smooth experience for visitors of all ages.
